I’ve finally made it to the Island of Jamaica.
Choosing a vacation at the Iberostar Hotel Jamaica was an excellent decision for my first Jamacia Vacation.
The vibe of Jamaica is what I remember most!
Iberostar Jamaica Reviews
The Iberostar Resort in Rose Hall Montego Bay, Jamaica is all-inclusive.
It’s a perfect getaway with fun in the sun for girls’ trips, guys’ trips, black folks, white folks, families, and friends.
The flight was a little longer because I flew on a connecting flight (I was not rich when I made this trip.)
Thank god I had the portable seat cushion that I recommend that lets you feel like you are in 1st class no matter what seats you get on the plane.
Flying into Montego Bay, and chilling with the folks who were also on the plane, I already started to feel a different Vibe.
I still did not know what to expect when I got off the airplane.
I’ve heard the extremes of horror stories and incredibly good stories about how it is to visit Jamaica.
Iberostar Hotel Jamaica is one of the 1st resorts I ever visited strictly for the Passport Kings Travel Channel.
The moment we got out of the shuttle and walked into the Iberostar Hotel Jamaica, people were already drinking, partying, and turning all the way up.
These activities immediately lowered my fears about what I was getting myself into.
The vibe was right.
There would be no one judging our behavior because they all looked like us and they were coming for the same reasons we were.
We were there to have an excellent care-free time under the hot Jamaican sun.
Out of all the options available in Montego Bay, I decided on staying at Iberostar Hotel Jamaica Resorts.
Is Iberostar Grand Rose Hall All-inclusive?
Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall is an all-inclusive resort.
All meals (including specialty restaurants and room service) were included.
Drinks, including top-shelf liquor, were included.
Even non-motorized water sports were also included.
We had free access to all restaurants, pools, beaches, and amenities.
The waiters are cool and they don’t judge your drinking desires.
They had a cool nightclub that was open every night.
They have an excellent buffet that was open every morning for breakfast.
If you ever ate any exotic foods for breakfast, they were serving it.
They also had brunch, lunch, and dinner.
The Restaurants to choose from are:
- Uncle Tony’s: Steak House with a Dress Code
- Jambalaya: Serves French and African Cuisine
- Samurai: Japanese Sushi
- Little River: main Buffet
- Deep Blue: A poolside Restaurant with Dinner sized portions
- Sun and Fun: Beachfront restaurant
- The Lobby Bar: All of the drinks you need are located in the lobby
- Calypso bar: Dinner and a Theatre Show
- Jammin: A bar with great food. Stays open til 1 am
How safe is Jamaica really?
Of course in the US, all we ever hear is:
“If you are going to one of the resorts in Jamiaca, you better stay behind the resort’s walls because you will get jacked up without your hotel’s protections”
So being that I’ve never visited Jamaica been here before I was on high alert.
Iberostar Rose Hall was not one of the very expensive resorts in Jamaica.
I had to also be mindful that there was a travel advisory alert in Jamaica warning of increasing violence that I read on the travel.state.gov website.
People say that violence usually does not touch tourist areas.
But for the more adventurous of us, they say we need to be aware of our surroundings.
They say we need to try to travel with friends in groups
And they warn us not to drink too much while outside the walls of Iberostar Hotel Jamaica walls.
They make it sound like walkers from the walking dead will be out there.
On my way to the resort, I realized I didn’t have the cash to pay the driver.
I had him stop at a local gas station/ATM.
Guess what?
The other people out there were friendly as hell.
I don’t know how many times to say this, but humans are just humans.
And people on the internet, especially those who hardly travel, usually have NO IDEA what they are talking about.
I also went to an area outside of this Iberostar Hotel Jamaica into a shopping area on one of the days.
I didn’t feel any kind of animosity.
I actually felt the opposite of nervous.
I got a taste of the cool Jamaica vibe that you get when listening to Bob Marley Songs.
Besides, the beef that Jamaicans have with Americans and Europeans is NOT with people who look like me.
They just had to fight very hard for their independence and they are making sure, no one comes and takes their freedom away.
Things to know when visiting Iberostar Hotel Jamaica
Jamaica, in general, has an average high of 85 degrees year-round.
It has a typically wet and dry climate.
The wet season runs from May to November.
Hurricane season starts in September.
The US dollar is used by most vendors on the island.
Bring small bills if you plan on visiting small shops ($1 or 5$ dollar bills).
The US Dollar to the Jamaican Dollar is about 1 to 100.
If someone says the price is $500 dollars, they are talking about 5 bucks in USD.
Iberostar Hotel Jamaica is positioned directly in the sunshine and glimmering beaches.
We all can get a chance to experience the Caribbean with only a short flight from the East Coast of the U.S.
This small country has remarkably warm weather and an easygoing vibe.
Iberostar Hotel Jamaica is great for escaping the stress of your daily life.
There are several ways to enjoy time here.
You can lounge around and enjoy the quiet Iberostar Hotel Jamaica.
Or you can “get it poppin” in the bustling nightlife in the cities.
How are the Jamaican Locals treating the Tourists?
The Jamaican Women
The women are beautiful, richly melonated, and really friendly once they warm up to you.
These are not the same kind of Jamaican women that used to go to high school with me when I was growing up in New York.
The Jamaican women in New York in the 90s were very rude, loud, and impossible to get along with.
Jamaican women who still live in Jamaica are the complete opposite.
They are cool as a fan.
Especially the staff in Iberostar Hotel Jamaica
The Jamaican Men
The most important thing to the men who live in Jamaica is mutual respect.
If you give respect, you will get it in return.
They are also quick to let you know how they feel if you are out there trying to act tough.
These guys are all in tip-top shape.
They make you want to hit the gym as soon as you get home.
It’s obvious that Stella aint the only chick that ever came here to get her grove back.
You can tell that a lot of the American women who were visiting here were looking for a lot more than weed cheap.
Excursions to do while in Jamaica
Excursion planners are at the front desk.
They will try to get you to agree to an outing before you even get your room keys.
I used to think this was rude.
After going to a few resorts, I now realize that excursions are best done in the middle of your vacation.
Many times I have missed my opportunity to get excursions out of the way early.
During the last few days of a vacation, people are usually physically drained.
I now suggest you take them up on their offer to see what they have and get signed up on the 1st day.
I suggest the Chukka Brand for experiences of jet skiing, Catamaran Parties, Deep Sea Diving, etc.
Click one of the links below to get set up with what you need before you get to the Iberostar Hotel Jamaica.
Overall experience in Iberostar Rose Hall Jamaica
If a low-key, low-priced, all-inclusive experience in Jamaica is what you’re looking for, I highly suggest Iberostar Rose Hall in Montego Bay.
It was everything you want a Caribbean Resort to be.
The dance parties in the pool, foam parties, and close proximity to shops and excursions make Iberostar Hotel Jamaica a great Vacation.
This is definitely one to bring your whole crew so ya’ll can bug out, eat and laugh a lot.
White sandy beaches and great beach excursions are the main draws at this Iberostar Hotel Jamaica.
Some of the people look like they don’t want to be bothered, but you will be amazed at how quickly they warm up to you after you say “what’s up?” to them.
I learned that the response to someone saying thank you is “Yeah mon.”
A lot of them will tell you that once you come to Jamaica you become an unofficial citizen.
When in stores, they will tell you the price but ensure you that if you keep smiling, the price will go down.
The food is excellent however, after being to 2 more Jamaican resorts afterward, I rank them as 3rd best.
Is Iberostar in Montego bay?
Montego bay
There are 3 Iberostar resorts in Montego Bay.
The one I visited was officially called Iberostar Grand Rose Hall.
Other Popular spots in Jamaica that tourists love to visit are Ocho Rios, Kingston, and Negril
They are not as popular as Montego and Iberostar Hotel Jamaica
Kingston
Kingston has a pretty rough reputation.
However, the city is filled with restaurants and bars.
In Kingston, you can take a tour of the Bob Marley Museum.
The Emancipation Park and the Hope Gardens also have frequent festivities and events.
You can even hike in the Blue and John Crow National Parks.
Negril
Negril, on the western coast, is known for its water sports and nightlife.
It is steadily getting as popular as Montego Bay
Many of the beach resorts run along the Seven Mile Beach.
The beaches in Negril have consistently been rated within the top 10 in the world.
There’s plenty to do in Negril, from rock climbing to scuba diving.
You will need to pace yourself.
Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios is 3rd in popularity among tourists.
You will find all of the usual amenities for a small resort town.
The cab rides from the airport are a lot longer than getting to Montego Bay.
Its a lot easier to get to the Iberostar Hotel Jamaica
What are the other resorts in Jamaica that I suggest?
I came back to Jamaica as quickly as I could.
You will want to as well.
The 2nd and 3rd times I spent my vacation in Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton then RIU Montego Bay.

Excellent goods from you, man. I’ve have in mind your stuff prior to and you are just too great. I actually like what you’ve got here, really like what you are saying and the way wherein you assert it. You make it enjoyable and you continue to take care of to stay it sensible. I can’t wait to learn much more from you. That is actually a wonderful website.
Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research on this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such magnificent info being shared freely out there.
Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super
